Service Description
The American Red Cross Basic Life Support provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients. Consistent with the latest AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a person experiencing cardiac arrest. Learners will perform a rapid assessment of an adult, child and infant. Learners will verbalize the six links in the Adult Cardiac Chain of Survival and the Pediatric Cardiac Chain of Survival The blended learning course is divided into two sessions: an online session with a 20-question test and an in-person skills session. Requirements: Physically able to knee on the floor and perform CPR to insure proficiency of skill. Complete the online portion of the course and bring the completed certificate to class. Course: 2.5 hours Certification card will be emailed to participants who complete both online and in person components of the BLS course.
